Man dies in New Hogan accident

A Valley Springs man, Isaias Zurita, tragically died after almost drowning in the New Hogan Resevoir the night before. Isaias' brother, Neftali, was already ashore when he noticed his brother struggling to swim. He bravely swam back out to rescue him, but Isaias went underwater several times during the process. Paramedics flew Isaias to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacremento, however his lungs and brain were severely damaged from lack of oxygen. He passed away at 6 a.m.
