Prevent Child Abuse Calaveras Council selects Parent Leaders for Calaveras County

(San Andreas, Ca) In February, the Prevent Child Abuse Calaveras Council and Parents Anonymous, Inc. joined together to recognize outstanding parents and parent leaders who have reached out to make improvements in their families and in their communities.
County residents were asked to send in nominations to the Prevent Child Abuse Calaveras Council for the council’s 2nd Annual Parent Leadership Awards.
The selected parents and parent leaders for 2006 are:
District 1 - Mr. Kris Maimone and Ms. Cherie Combs
District 2 – Ms. Nicholette Lyman, Ms. Sarah Rose and Ms. Serena Gillette
District 3 – Ms. Kris Fichtner
District 4 – Mr. Albert Pacheco and Mr. and Mrs. George and Joan Loomis
District 5 – Ms. Sharon Mejia, Ms. Michelle Scott and Mr. Jesse Limas MS
Those selected will receive their award certificates on Monday, April 17, 2006 at 9:00am, at the Board of Supervisors meeting in San Andreas.
Each honoree will accept the award from the Supervisor of his/her district.
Each of the 2006 Parent Leadership Award honorees will also be invited to attend the Calaveras County Children’s Summit meeting that will be held at Kautz Winery in October of this year. Prevent Child Abuse Calaveras Council will pay for the entrance fees and breakfast and lunch fees for each of the winners for the Children’s Summit.
The Prevent Child Abuse Calaveras Council recognizes the vital importance of partnering with parents. Parent Leadership is an essential and effective means of strengthening families and preventing child abuse and neglect
The Prevent Child Abuse Calaveras Council has developed ways to provide support, information, education, and intervention to actively uphold all parents and families in Calaveras County.
