So Why Are We Broke?

There are so many people in the public sectors screaming about money. We need more for the schools. We need more for the jail. Screaming to have a bigger piece of a finite pie. Of course this would be the gut reaction for most people. Happily not all. (I loved Mark Campbell's quote which basically said he's do his best with what he was given)

But the real question should be "Why are we here and what can we do to fix it?"

FIRST WEST CALAVERAS HISTORY WEBSITE LAUNCHED

The history of West Calaveras now has a home on the Internet. The Society for the Preservation of West Calaveras History (SPWCH) has launched westcalaverashistory.org as the group’s Website and the premier source on the Internet for historical information specifically about the area, which includes Valley Springs, Burson, Wallace and more.

Citizens of the Year

Well I feel really strange tooting my own horn here but Liz and Phil Weaver voted Valley Springs Citizens of the Year. Read about it on the Pine Tree Quite a surprise and quite an honor. Liz and I felt very special being among the other nominees as we have a great deal of respect for each of them.
