Sgt Chris Hewitt of the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office released details on 01/23/14 regarding an alarm going off at the Umpqua Bank in Valley Springs, located on Highway 26. At approximately 10:25pm on 01/22/14 within minutes Deputies responded to an alarm notification at the Umpqua Bank.
Very sad news regarding 22 year old twin brothers, who appeared to be in respiratory distress. On 11/12/2013 at 4:00pm a 911 call was received at the Calaveras County Sheriff's Dispatch Center. At the residence on the 5000 block of Rippon Road in Valley Springs, Sheriff's deputies responded and found the two brothers who appeared to be in distress. CPR was initiated by the deputies and requested EMS personal to respond. Both brothers were under doctors care, and have suffered from a long-term illness. The brother's required breathing ventilators for life support.

At approximately 2am on 10/30/2013 Calaveras Sheriff's Deputies located a vehicle they felt was suspicious in the parking lot of CVS Pharmacy in Valley Springs. A gray Toyota Celica fled the parking lot at a high rate of speed when the Sheriff Deputies attempted to make contact. The deputies followed the suspect vehicle, heading westbound on Highway 12, with speed increasing to 100 MPH. As the suspect vehicle neared San Joaquin County, Calaveras Sheriff's Deputies requested assistance from the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office and the California Highway Patrol.
On Oct 1st, Tuesday night hundreds of candles will illuminate during Pink in the Night in Valley Springs. The annual event promoting breast cancer awareness begins at 6pm at Terrace Plaza, 1906 Vista Del Lago Drive, Valley Springs. All are invited, supporters, fighters, and survivors to light candles for those who lost the battle and for those who've survived.

On Sept. 28th As part of National Public Lands Day people will have opportunities for to volunteer to do work at New Hogan Lake. It is the nation's largest single day volunteer event for public lands all across America. At New Hogan, volunteers will receive a free barbecue lunch and free entry to any federal public land for 1 day.

LOST!!! Kitty named "Jet"
"Jet" is 12 years old, he is grey with a white chest and paws and his tail is kinked. He was lost on Sept 13, 2013 at Hanley Drive and Hartvickson in Valley Springs. He is missed greatly so let's find him and get him home to his family!!!

On 09/11/2013 about 4:45 a female teenager reported that an unknown male tried to get her to go with him. He offered her marijuana as an attempt to get her in his vehicle. This occured at the Veterans Field playground in Valley Springs. The young female refused, and the male subject came closer to her, she pulled away and ran. He is discribed as a white male adult, approximately 6'0, hushy build with dark longer hair in the front, and faded to light hair in the shorter back hair. He was wearing a faded grey t-shirt and blue jeans that had a hole in the left thigh, just above the knee.

Judith Bischeri and her husband have lived in Valley for many years, she loved gardening, antique hunting, and loved her animals.

Calaveras County Sheriff's Office released information on 09/05/2013 regarding a Calaveras Sheriff's Deputies responce on Aug 24, 2013 at 6:15am to the La Contenta Golf Course on Highway 26 in Valley Springs for a report of vandalism and theft. The investigation revealed that two 17 year old males and one 16 year old male from the Burson, Jenny Lind, and Railroad Flat areas were the likely suspects.
