Angels camp has been working hard on developing their farmers market. Great food, entertainment, and of course locally grown fresh produce. Shopping for your food locally is one of the best things you can do for your health and also for the health of the environment.

We've got a lot going on here in Valley Springs. Maybe we should think about we can do to brand our town. Maybe being incorporated like Angels Camp is would move things along.

Trinitas owners Mike and Michelle Nemee are likely to lose the ruling concerning lease payments on golf carts and the case is still in pending. The golf course was built without the permits on land zoned for agriculture. They are in a dilemma whether the course will be legally operated. The owners of the golf course are likely to lose a recent trial on whether golf is a form of agritourism in Calaveras County.

The upcoming Trinitas decision is expected soon. Is golfing agritourism? I'm not sure that Calaveras County farmers and ranchers are waiting for a judge to decide whether it is legal for them to build and operate golf courses. An ordinance passed in 2005 specifies certain uses that are acceptable for farm and ranch land such as horse stables. Supporters of the golf course claim that hitting a golf ball across land is much the same as riding a horse across land.

This article is about kids learning of rocks and gems at a Pow Wow at Snyder's Valley Springs. A man named Michael Longwolf, who is 41, lead the study and treated them all the same, saying "Today, you're all Indian kids" which lead to the children cheering. Locally, the Pow Wow is treasured, as it is a tradition with many who grew up there.
