The work of a husband and wife team of Valley Springs entrepreneurs has been accepted into the Apps for Healthy Kids competition led by First Lady Michelle Obama and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Created by Phil and Liz Weaver, their online wellness application Break Pal - Fitness at Your Desk will now compete against 30 other applications in its category, most of which were developed by much larger corporate game developers.

Recently the Sheng Chi Foundation has been accepted by Ebay giving works. This gives us a number of fundraising possibilities and also spreads awareness.

Saturday morning I was here at the quan. Just about to initiate a day of manual labor (or manuel labor as my late stepfather called it but that's another story)
Up walked a kid with that street urchin look. A little dirty, a few tatoos. He introduced himself and asked for some work.
Now I'm a pretty charitable guy but the funny thing is my first reaction was to turn him away. Strangely I think it's the same with most people. So I told him no. No work today.
