January 24th, 2006 The Wallace/Burson Association is wrapping up our very successful FIRST ANNUAL WEST CALAVERAS POPPY TRAIL. As of today, we have had requests for (drumroll!) *** 45 POUNDS *** of poppy seed for folks to plant at home and *** 30 POUNDS *** for us to plant along the highways. This project has captured folks’ attention and enthusiasm all over Calaveras County! Please join us Saturday, January 28, 10 a.m., Wallace PO (corner of Hwy. 12 and Camanche Parkway), to celebrate together, to give special mention to our PREMIER SPONSORS, and to help plant the field across the street with some of our donated seed (so wear sturdy shoes!). This project has also captured the attention of the press, so there will be representatives from several newspapers. Also, watch for some of us broadcasting seed on Thursday around lunchtime, and we will also be out seeding on Friday… SO … if any of you have a little time to join in, please call Fran Rupley 763-5305. If there is still work to be done on January 28, we’d appreciate any help then too!
