Well I feel really strange tooting my own horn here but Liz and Phil Weaver voted Valley Springs Citizens of the Year. Read about it on the Pine Tree Quite a surprise and quite an honor. Liz and I felt very special being among the other nominees as we have a great deal of respect for each of them.
Quality Northern Shou' Shu' for Sacramento
After Da' Shifu Al Moore's passing it became incredibly difficult to find a Shou' Shu' school. As the pressures within the system to "modernize" became stronger a large number of the quality instructors went on their way.

After Da' Shifu Al Moore's passing it became incredibly difficult to find a Shou' Shu' school. As the pressures within the system to "modernize" became stronger a large number of the quality instructors went on their way. No one except maybe a few teachers very loyal to their art remained. As far as we know, we were the only school to continue to teach Da' Shifu's Shou' Shu' in a commercial school. With the loss of so many quality instructors, Shou' shu' itself was at risk. The art could have easily been lost.
The Sheng Chi Foundation www.shengchifoundation.org currently has one sponsorship available for a student with Asperger's syndrome or a similar high functioning autism disorder. Available for a child or teen (8-18) at the Valley Springs School.
The sponsorship is for 3 months but will likely be renewed at that time.
