Victoria, your latest propaganda had me rolling on the floor. Your election fliers are neck and neck with the National Enquirer in fiction.
I attended the first candidate forum in Rancho Calaveras, and when Russ was asked, he said yes, he would support a new jail because he is concerned about the criminals who are out on the street due to a jail that is inadequate to hold them. With regard to funding the jail, he suggested that we need to be sure that we look at other facilities for proven plans and, keep ego out of the design, in order to keep the costs down. He never mentioned the Sheriff. Russ also said he supports adequate compensation for Deputy Sheriffs (how is this an insult to their organization).
Imagine my surprise when I read Victoria's insert in the Valley Springs News, and she said Russ Thomas “ . .surprised everyone by insulting the Deputy Sheriff’s Association and accused popular three term Sheriff Dennis Downum of wanting a new jail to satisfy his ego”.
Honestly Victoria, after you lose the election, you and your campaign writers should go to work as reporters for the National Enquirer, you really know how to turn fact into ridiculous fiction. This reminds me of elementary school and the kids who made up stories, then ran to tattle to the teacher. Well, I guess you showed Russ Thomas . . . you made up a story and ran to tattle to your Uncle Dennis, the Sheriff
I'm looking forward to your next election flier. Are you going to tell us that Russ Thomas is really a space alien who has stolen someone's identity?
As far Mike McDaniel and his fiction story, posing as a letter to the editor, I give thanks every day that he lost the election. His delusional behavior has no place in County Government.
