Just a note to let you know. CCWD Board of Directors will be meeting Sept
27th, 9 am to look at the need to increase water and sewer connection cost
in some areas. Also we will be looking at changing our commercial sewer
hook up formula which should reduce the high commercial sewer fees.
La Contenta sewer fees are the only fees in the district not to be
increased. Jenny lind water fees are proposed to increase by about three
thousand dollars per home.

"What'cha going to do when the well runs dry"?

Like many of the residence of northwest Calaveras County, I was attracted to the area by the peace, the quiet and by the nearby lakes. When I purchased a home in Burson, surrounded by lakes, the possibility of running out of water was not a top concern. The following drought year, all that changed. Over the years, I've learned a lot about water -- how much it costs, how to manage it, how little lies beneath us, and most important, what the future will hold if we don't address the problem immediately.
